TAYSAD organized a Sectoral Trade Delegation to Romania from 4 to 7 October 2026 to strengthen trade relations between the Turkish and Romanian automotive industries and expand international business opportunities for its members. Bringing together 50 TAYSAD members, the programme focused on Romania’s automotive manufacturing infrastructure, investment environment and the business opportunities available to Turkish suppliers.
Led by TAYSAD Chair of the Board Yakup Birinci and Secretary General Sevgi Özçelik, the delegation held meetings with public institutions, industrial organizations and industry representatives. During the B2B meetings organized in cooperation with ACAROM, TAYSAD member companies met with 32 companies, including Dacia, to present their manufacturing capabilities, exchange information and explore new commercial and business cooperation opportunities.
As part of the programme, the delegation visited Ford Otosan’s manufacturing plant in Craiova, where participants learned about the facility’s production operations and supply chain structure. The delegation also visited the manufacturing facilities of Farplas Romania and Beyçelik Gestamp Romania to gain first-hand insight into the operations of Turkish automotive suppliers in the country.
The delegation also held meetings with Craiova City Hall, the Dolj County Council, the Romanian Investment Agency and High Tech Industrial Park. Discussions with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Romania, the Commercial Counsellor’s Office, ACAROM and TIAD focused on strengthening trade relations between the two countries and exploring opportunities for cooperation in the automotive industry.
Through these visits and bilateral meetings, participants gained insights into the structure of Romania’s automotive industry and the region’s investment opportunities. The programme also provided an opportunity to explore ways to strengthen TAYSAD members’ presence in international markets and develop new business connections.
