Commenting after the event, TAYSAD Chairman of the Board Yakup Birinci stated, “Automechanika Istanbul proved to be a highly productive platform where our members established new global connections and showcased their technological capabilities and manufacturing excellence to the world.”

During Automechanika Istanbul 2026, the Automotive Suppliers Association of Türkiye (TAYSAD) met with industry representatives from across the globe, showcasing the manufacturing strength, engineering expertise and transformation capacity of the Turkish automotive supply industry on an international stage. Discussions throughout the exhibition focused particularly on electric vehicle technologies, sustainable manufacturing, digitalization and next-generation mobility solutions. Through the engagements carried out together with its members, TAYSAD supported the sector’s global competitiveness while contributing to the development of new business partnerships and investment opportunities.

Showcasing the Industry’s Transformation Capability to International Visitors
Emphasizing the value Automechanika Istanbul brings to the industry, Yakup Birinci said: “The meetings we held during the exhibition once again demonstrated the strong position of the Turkish automotive supply industry in global markets. The production flexibility, quality standards, engineering capabilities and agility of our members attracted significant attention from international visitors. In particular, our solutions addressing electrification and mobility transformation stood out in discussions with foreign industry representatives. Throughout Automechanika Istanbul, numerous new business contacts were established, while important discussions were also held to further strengthen existing partnerships.”

Highlighting the Vision for Next-Generation Mobility
Evaluating the key topics that shaped the exhibition agenda, Birinci added: “The global automotive ecosystem is no longer defined solely by manufacturing capabilities, but increasingly by its capacity to develop technology. In this transformation process, the knowledge base and manufacturing infrastructure of the Turkish automotive supply industry provide a significant advantage. At Automechanika Istanbul, initiatives related to battery technologies, software development, AI-supported manufacturing processes and energy efficiency attracted considerable interest. The meetings held throughout the exhibition created an important platform that will contribute to the future development of our sector.”

Sustainability and Localization Remained Key Priorities
Birinci continued his assessment of the industry’s future outlook: “Transformation in the automotive industry is accelerating not only in products but also in production models. European Union regulations, carbon-neutral manufacturing targets and the restructuring of supply chains are reshaping the priorities of our industry. As TAYSAD, we are working to help our members adapt to this transformation more rapidly. Investments in technologies that increase localization, reduce dependency on imported critical components and enhance high value-added manufacturing capabilities are of critical importance. The strong interest we witnessed at Automechanika Istanbul clearly demonstrated that the Turkish automotive supply industry will continue to be a powerful player in this transformation.”
