By the collaboration of OİB (Automotive Industry Exporters Association), TAYSAD (Automotive Suppliers Association of Türkiye) and OSS (Turkish Automotive Aftermarket Association), Aftermarket Conference was held for the 13th time on 25th of May 2023 at Elite World Asia Hotel, Istanbul.
“The effects of Electrification on Aftermarket” was discussed by the participation of leaders of the automotive industry in the event. Chairman of TAYSAD Board Albert Saydam said “The transformation is essential in the new world order. As TAYSAD, I would like to admit that we haven’t given as much importance as we should. The shares of imports may be increasing gradually in renewal market in our country for this reason. I would like to underline that sustainable development will definately reduce the comsumption and ensure the domestic production instead of imports. “in his opening speech. The president of OSS Ziya Özalp also made an opening speech and said: “ As Aftermarket Manufacturers and distributors, we stayed positive despite of all the challenging conditions. I can say that we have continued the rising trend in this year such as last 2 years despite all the global uncertainties following the changes in the automotive industry and the realities that no one could have foreseen brought about by the pandemic”. OİB President Baran Çelik gave the following information at the opening speech : “We have an export that increased by 11 percent in the first 4 months and reached 11.3 billion dollars in total. We will complete this year with an export of nearly 35 billion dollars by reaching the highest export value of our Republic."
President&CEO of MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Paul McCarthy, CLEPA Senior Consultant Market Affairs Frank Schlehuber, Automotive Aftermarket Practice Director of Roland Berger Mathieu Bernard, Ford Otosan Supply Chain Leader Ahmet Aslanbaş and SAMPA Automotive Trademaker&Patent Agent Erdem Şahinkaya were among the main speakers of the 13th Aftermarket Conference. In the second part of the conference, a panel titled “Aftermarket in Türkiye with all the links of the chain” was held. The panel was modareted by Silkar Endaş Board Member Emirhan Silahtaroğlu. The panelists SIO Automotive Board Member Kemal Görgünel, CEO of Bakırcı Automotive Mehmet Karakoç, OM Automotive General Manager Okay Merih and Vice Chairman of the Board Ali Özçete evaluated the aftermarket in Türkiye.
