Flexibility and Resilience in the Supply Industry Have Become More Important Than Ever!
The Way to Catch Future Trends in Automotive is Through Start-ups!
TAYSAD, the only representative of the Turkish automotive supply industry, discussed the problems of the sector at the Supply Chain Conference held for the 3rd time this year. Many industry professionals shared their experiences and predictions at the event organized with the theme of “Transformation”. Stating that the conference provides great opportunities to discuss how supply chains change, evolve and prepare for future challenges, TAYSAD Board Member Fatih Uysal said, “The rapid progress in technology has led to a radical change in the sector, from business methods to supply chain processes. Innovations such as Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, big data analytics and IOT offer us opportunities in the supply chain that we could not even imagine before. Thanks to these innovations, the supply chain becomes faster, more flexible and more sustainable. However, this transformation is not limited only to technological innovations. Unexpected events such as global trade wars and pandemics have shown us how fragile supply chains can be. For this reason, the concepts of flexibility and resilience have become more important than ever."
Togg CEO Gürcan Karakaş, who made a presentation titled "User Expectations and Technology Transform Suppliers along with the Industry", said:
“The most important point here is, is intellectual property in our country? Do we have the originality? It is the position that makes us independent and special. So if you have the intellectual property, then you can act very quickly. You can develop products very quickly.
With the development of user expectations and connected technologies, automotive is heading towards a different field. We selected a significant part of our suppliers from companies that are TAYSAD members, have worked with TAYSAD and have developed technology in this country. We need to know artificial intelligence, cyber security and all its derivatives. It is necessary to understand every service aspect of energy solutions. Outside of the automotive industry, where is this information, technologies and business models? All of them are predominantly in start-ups. When we look at these start-ups, they are companies with 15-20 people, some are even smaller, but their ideas are excellent. It is very important to be able to bring them together. In other words, we examined over 1000 start-ups and evaluated the ideas of 33 of them. We started to slowly create the ecosystem together with them," he said.
Automotive Suppliers Association of Türkiye (TAYSAD) continues its exemplary work in the sector, where new practices and regulations as well as the change in the sector are discussed. In this context, TAYSAD, the only representative of the Turkish automotive supply industry, brought together supply industrialists and leading names of the sector at the Supply Chain Conference held for the 3rd time this year.
Business processes can be digitized with minimal coding!
TAYSAD Board Member Fatih Uysal who made opening speech said, "This conference offers great opportunities to discuss how supply chains change, evolve and prepare for future challenges.” Stating that the rapid progress in technology has led to a radical change in the sector, from the way of doing business to the supply chain processes, Fatih Uysal said: “Innovations such as Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, big data analytics and IOT offer us opportunities in the supply chain that we could not even imagine before. Unexpected events such as global trade wars and pandemics have shown us how fragile supply chains can be. Therefore, the concepts of flexibility and resilience have become more important than ever. In order to supply chains adapting to the future, we must both embrace technological innovations and create strategically flexible and durable structures. This flexible resilience is based on the most important element for the success of technological transformation: people. With artificial intelligence support, low-code platforms now enable even people who do not have advanced software knowledge to develop applications with minimal coding knowledge. By investing in these technologies and equipping our employees with these competencies, we can quickly digitize our internal processes with minimal coding knowledge.”

Following the opening, Togg CEO Gürcan Karakaş made a presentation titled "User Expectations and Technology Transform Suppliers along with the Industry". Gürcan Karakaş said, “As of now, we have more than 30 thousand vehicles in traffic. The most important point here is, is intellectual property in our country? Do we have the originality? It is the position that makes us independent and special. So if you have the intellectual property, then you can act very quickly. "You can develop products very quickly," he said. Stating that the automotive industry is moving towards a different field with the development of user expectations and related technologies, Gürcan Karakaş continued as follows: “We selected a significant part of our suppliers from companies that are TAYSAD members, have worked with TAYSAD and have developed technology in this country. We call these 128 companies our business partners, not suppliers. We need to know artificial intelligence, cyber security and all its derivatives. It is necessary to understand every service aspect of energy solutions. Outside of the automotive industry, where is this information, technologies and business models? All of them are predominantly in start-ups. When we look at these start-ups, they are companies of 15-20 people, some are even smaller, but their ideas are excellent. So we examined over 1000 start-ups. We evaluated the ideas of 33 of them. We slowly started to create the ecosystem together with them. We have the chance to become a carbon neutral brand in 2035. We established our facility in a lush green area in Bursa. We need to do this to keep it green. We need to do this because of our responsibilities to new generations.”
