The Automotive Industry is Experiencing the Second Great Transformation and Revolution in its History!

A Great Need for Trained Human Resources Will Arise with the Electric Age!

The Aftermarket Conference, the largest aftermarket event of the automotive industry, was held for the 14th time this year. In the event organized with the participation of the leading names of the industry, the topic of "Competition and Digitalization - The Road to 2030" was discussed. Opening the event, Berke Ercan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAYSAD, said: "The automotive industry is experiencing the second biggest transformation and revolution since Ford produced the T model. We are facing many disruptive changes and we are trying to overcome them. Electrification is beyond knocking on the door, it is in our lives. Therefore, its effects are and will be felt in the aftermarket as well. As much as electric vehicles have created a great transformation in our lives, the invisible dimension of this has created great changes in dealers and sales representatives in the dimension of differentiation of spare parts of vehicles in after-sales services. It is frequently mentioned in every environment that there is a great need for trained human resources." Stating that the automotive sector has indeed become a source of pride for our country, Ali Özçete, President of the OSS Association, said, "With the transition to autonomous and electric vehicles, the decrease in the number of spare parts is a separate element of danger. Especially on the manufacturer front, the most important thing to pay attention to is that the companies that produce for the main industry open up a little more to the aftermarket front. We think that this will be the most important factor that may cause the production capacity in our country to shrink."

The industry's only Aftermarket Conference, organized in cooperation with the Association of Automotive Suppliers (TAYSAD), Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB) and Turkish Automotive Aftermarket Association (OSS), was held in Istanbul for the 14th time this year. In the event, which hosted a giant meeting on a global scale, striking findings and predictions regarding the sector were discussed. At the conference, which was held with the theme "Competition and Digitalization - The Road to 2030", manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and independent services, as well as global stakeholders and leading names of the industry shared their tips and tricks to prepare for the electric car era.
