TAYSAD organized the Supplier Day on 30 June with the support of the Presidency of Defence Industries, bringing together the automotive supplier industry and the defence industry to foster collaboration based on the sector's high value-added manufacturing capabilities and engineering expertise. The event, attended by 248 industry representatives, served as an important platform for strengthening cooperation between the automotive and defence industries.
Hosted by TAYSAD, the event brought together representatives from the Presidency of Defence Industries and Türkiye's leading prime contractors—ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and TEI—with TAYSAD member companies. Throughout the programme, participants discussed procurement strategies, future requirements, localization objectives, and the potential contributions of the automotive supplier industry to the defence ecosystem.
The opening speeches were delivered by Yakup Birinci, Chairman of the Board of TAYSAD, and Ahmet Tolga Sayın, Head of Department at the Presidency of Defence Industries.
In his opening remarks, Yakup Birinci emphasized that the automotive supplier industry's advanced manufacturing infrastructure, quality culture, engineering capabilities, and global competitiveness represent significant value for the defence industry. He stated that stronger collaboration between the two sectors would contribute not only to technological advancement but also to Türkiye's high value-added manufacturing goals.
As part of the programme, the Presidency of Defence Industries delivered a presentation introducing its activities and supplier ecosystem. Representatives from ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and TEI also shared insights into their procurement strategies, priority sourcing areas, future expectations, and approaches to supplier development.
During the Q&A session, participants had the opportunity to engage directly with representatives of the institutions, asking questions about supplier qualification processes, participation in defence projects, and potential collaboration opportunities.
The event concluded with 132 B2B meetings between TAYSAD member companies and defence industry organizations. These meetings enabled companies to present their manufacturing and engineering capabilities directly to prime contractors while establishing new business connections, exploring potential supplier relationships, and laying the groundwork for long-term strategic partnerships.
By organizing the Supplier Day, TAYSAD provided an important platform for strengthening strategic cooperation between the automotive supplier industry and the defence industry, while also creating new opportunities for leveraging high-technology manufacturing capabilities across different sectors.
